Mercenaries: Killin’ For A Livin’

Staying true to its roots in heavy music, Mercenaries, a new Philippine based apparel brand aims to slay the streetwear scene by bringing on em’ badass metal/rock inspired vibes.

The brainchild of Filipino Metalcore band Valley of Chrome‘s frontman, Rogel Africa, and streetwear architect, Heinritzh Sales, Mercenaries lives and breathes the mantra of “Killin’ it daily”, a positive spin on the word “mercenary” which essentially refers to soldiers who are paid to kill.

Clearly, Mercenaries is not about the mere aesthetics and fleeting trends of fashion. Rather it focuses more on the “beast” aspect of the “hypebeast” and goes beyond the hype of things, rocking unabashedly a subversive attitude that screams loud, proud and uncompromising on all their wearables.

Its debut merchandise, comprising of 2 statement tees, boast just that. The first, “Haters”, is a tongue in cheek illustration on the team and a call to arms to taunt keyboard warriors and naysayers to step up. The second, “Killin”, is a tribute to the Metallica album Kill Em’ All and embodies dedication and courage to one’s passion.
